The Control Center is only supported on some of the newest cards (I believe), while the Control Panel that is included with the smaller driver package works on all ATI cards. Glad you got it figured out. No need to have something that you won't use-there's enough junk out there already. It's also possible that you don't have the.NET framework installed. That is needed for the Control Center, but not for the Control Panel (It would have been nice if they had used completely different names for these features.).

Original Title: Catastrophic Jeopardy!! Help Please?! My computer unit has the following specs: Microsoft Windows XP SP3 Intel Pentium IV CPU 2.00 GHZ 256 RAM Radeon 7000 / Radeon VE Family(Microsoft Corporation).Okay, I know that this computer specifications has already been left out by civilization, but hey this unit is still MUCH, MUCH useful! There are three accounts on my computer. So, just like any other ordinary day, I booted my computer up to use, however, upon logging on my account, I noticed that my skinned cursor was reverted back to the default skin.

I wondered why but did not minded it. However, the next thing that happened really troubled me. 6 Internet Security icon on the task bar appeared but there was a red 'X' mark on it.

Bothered, I clicked on it, and it displayed that my computer was unsecured. I clicked the FIX NOW button but the application lagged and crashed. I tried to open MS Word 2010, but then it did not respond!

I rebooted it, tried the second account, I was able to log on but after a few minutes, the unit suddenly restarted. I tried the third account(which I just recently created) but it froze in the 'APPLYING YOUR PERSONAL SETTINGS' phase. Recent Modifications that I have done are the following: - Cleaned my registry using Advanced System Optimizer - Defragged my Hard Drives using Advanced System Optimizer - Repaired the User Accounts Page Problem(User Accounts Page is BLANK) by registering regsvr32 jscript.dll thus fixing it.

Scheduled a Disk Scan using Advanced System Optimizer which was to be done the next boot. I allowed the scan to finish( which took 2 HOURS) to see if it will resolve the problem but nothing happened.

I created a restore point to secure, formatted one of my drives and it's now fixed! However, a new problem rose, at any time that I am using my unit, the mouse cursor freezes(only the mouse pointer) while others are working fine. I checked if the mouse hardware was damaged but it was perfectly fine.

It happens every time I use my computer and noticed that a force reboot was the only solution and all of the files that I am currently working on was lost. I also noticed that I can't bring up Task Manager and the keyboard commands also froze. The keyboard hardware is perfectly fine. Can you give an advice about this one instead? This is what I would try, Unplug the extra drive and see if Windows will boot normally, If that doesn't solve the issue perform a clean boot by following the instructions. This is basically a process of elimination to see if you can determine whether or not it's a software or driver causing the issue.

On another note, you are really pushing the bare minimum with the amount of ram you have installed. While that may not be the entire problem, it certainly doesn't help. Microsoft Partner Network Member.
