As I’ve gotten as deep as I can into Mindly, it’s obvious that the develepers went a certain distance with it and then quit. What there is to Mindly is wonderful, I might say.

And that’s what seduced me into parting with $12 for the iOS app early on, and then $30 for the Mac app so I could sync them (which works well enough, btw). But now that I’m really needing to map a big project out, it’s falling short on a number of levels. While it’s great that I can zoom out to see the Big Picture, the text node labels are so small I can’t see what’s what at all! I end up having to zoom in anyway to see where anything is. We MUST have the ability to format the node labeling text - larger, colors, typeface, line spacing, etc. That very small Mind map example on their website looks so nice. Just wait till you add 10 or 20 nodes - no way can you read the labels.

Besides the life or death ability to format node labels both in overview and focus view, I really need these other features: The ablility to cross connect nodes just like SimpleMind and others. To be able to add labels in the overview would be really essential. Add Tasks to nodes with Due Dates or Calendar options Attach documents Attach links I’m sure I’m forgetting something. Mindly tech support is okay and pretty quick, but I wasn’t reassured that any of these features would be forthcoming.

UPDATE: I was incorrect! There is a way to add a website link as a node.

It’s with the image import. But no way to ADD a linkt. Good start, but needs some improvements –. Great app on iOS – by far the best mind mapping app. On macOS, it needs a little more than just a simple port.

It is essential to have keyboard shortcuts for navigating and editing the map. These are misisng. Drag-and-drop of any kind, which exists in other document creation apps is missing. I'd like to be able to drag images, text, even links to documents into mindly and have it create nodes. At US$29.99, this app feels overpriced. I really hope that the devs will add some of the missing features from this, and other reviews. Using El Capitan 10.11.3?

Pass on this. Awesome app coming from iPhone version.

Gets thoughts out quick. Would love to see the app work with gestures on mac for zoom and movement around mind map, instead of having to click and hold. Also if there was option to change background color.with mac using all white on photos and iTunes, another app with all white sears my retinas after a few hours. Flux helps but would rather shades of grey. If you like the phone app, this rocks more cause of the increase screen size.

Not a bad startsome suggestions. I love this app on my phone. On the mac, any Mindly documents I create and save to iCloud do not show up on my phone (and vice versa).

So that is disapointing considering the latest update supposedly fixed this. As far as features, I am the type of person that wants speed when mapping out my mind.

So I need keyboard shortcuts for everything! I would like to be able to quickly go up and down the hyarchy using simple shortcuts like Arrow UP and DOWN, etc. And a shortcut for the search bar cursor so I don’t have to mouse up there for each search.

Also, when you search, if you type a Capital letter for the first letter, NOTHING shows up in search (even if one of your Mindly circles starts with a capital letter). I also think it would be much easier to re-organize if you could drag and drop mindly circles in the Mindmap view, instead of having to drag to the copy / paste area and then drag it to a new desitnation (too many steps for power users). You guys have nailed the elegance, now if you could smooth out the experience you will be the top mindmapper app out there for those that want clean and simple like me. Hope you take this all as it was intended, which is to help IMPROVE your app.
