Dear Cyberat88, Good days, Thanks a lot for your reply, well, My ITE8212 raid card is add-on card, not integrated chipset on anybrand of motherboard. I remembered when I bought the the raid card from the auction site the seller told me it supported dvd-rom worked with hard disk in the same tunnel or different tunnel, it means that I can place a hard disk or two hard disks in the same tunnel and the reset of the tunnel can place another dvd-rom. I found that it only can support hard disk(s) within their one or two channels without any cvd-rom, it did not support any dvd-rom worked with hard disk(s). And now, I just only took it as my boot up disk with Win7x64 but I found it could not boot up by this card when I tried to using the WinXP 32bit driver as Win7x64bit drive? I felt the add-on card bios not support the win7x64 boot up function and it not support the win7x64 bit driver, I guessed.
Could me help me to FIX this problem and where to get the newly BIOS and the win7x64 driver? By the way, it could support WinXP 32bit boot-up function.
Thanks you very much for your kindly concern yennwen. Do you have a function in BIOS to switch boot sequence to SCSI or SATA first? If you do switch it. The greatest speed benefit from a raid card is for HDDs and only HDDs can be setup as RAID. Since you call it IDE I guess it's to setup IDE drives as RAID?
Weird, still it might be a 32bit device. Check with manufacturer as to compatibility with x64 machine. Windows 7 x64 might need an x64 driver disc for that card ON installation under 'other' drivers.
Cyberat88, good days, Thanks for your kindly reply, due to the bios boot up sequence I sure that the card setting has no problem. You know why? The winxp 32bit can be boot up by the same card, the same setting. Just only the OS. System differences.

I knew this add-on card function supported raid job but I just took it as my Normal IDE with one hard disk installed under channel 0 ( the card has 0 and,1,two channels). So the environment was simple. I also knew that the win7x64 should be worked with x64 driver but I did not have x64 driver, so i was using directly xp 32bit driver instead, it can be driven but it could not boot when I done the win7x64 installation job.

I also contacted with the original ITE company by three weeks ago, they replied me the card has been out for a long time, they did not support win7x32x64. That's all i know. Kindly, do you or anybody have this driver?

After searching the Internet for Windows 7 (or even Vista) drivers with no success to access the GIGARAID ITE IT8212 ATA IDE/RAID on my Gigabyte 8I945G Pro, I realized that I had successfully installed the Win 7 RC onto these drives so I knew it could be done. But all I could find were XP drivers for this older motherboard. Short Answer: The key to this is installing the XP drivers (either 32 or 64 bit) during the initial install from floppy or USB flash drive (these can be downloaded from the Gigabyte website) and installing Win7 onto one of the ATA drives, then copying the partition to a SATA drive. Failed Attempts: I first tried just a normal install to dual boot XP and Win7, but with no Win7 driver, none of the drives on the Gigaraid were accessable. I successfully installed my Vista Ultimate, and tried to upgrade, but it wouldn't let me since I didn't have Windows 7 Ultimate. Like many, I tried Vista and went back to XP. I love Win 7 now, but I have really old software that won't run on it.
Full Story: I have several SATA II drives (C,D,E,F) plus two IDE drives (G,H) on this system. C: was my Windows XP system; D:,E: & F: are data only drives; and I had installed Win7 RC 32 on the G: and Win7 RC 64 on the H. After playing around with both versions, I decided that the performance increase with the 64 didn't offset all the software issues and since my machine only supported 4GB of memory, the 32bit version of Win 7 was the way to go. On the final successful install, I booted up my Win 7 install CD, and when it only showed me the SATA drives, I inserted the USB flash drive with the XP drivers, loaded the XP drivers from there, and did a refresh to install Win 7 on the second G: drive partition. After rebooting and getting it to run correctly, I booted Win7RC on H: and ran Acronis to copy the good Win7 install partition from G: to the second partition on C.
I already had all the BCD entries on C: from my failed installations to dual boot XP and Win 7, but I still had to use the install CD to repair the boot entries. After that, everything worked and I can see all 6 hard drives from Windows 7. I'm posting this only to possibly help others from a day of frustration - I suspect that this method may work on other older machines that have drives with no Win7 drivers available. Thank you for your suggestions, I ended up doing something else based on what you mentioned: I wanted to keep my existing IDE drive bootable to Windows XP SP3 and install a new Samsung 830 SATA Drive bootable to a new Windows 7 Pro install. Since I didn't have spare drives (or partition on my old drive), I bought a different SATA controller from my IT8212 ATA, and installed from there.
I also then had to have BOTH controllers in Windows 7 for Windows 7 Update to see it and download the correct drivers. Then I was able to switch to the IT8212 ATA controller. Windows 7 automatically installed the following driver for it - Silicon Image Sil3114 SoftRaid 5 Controller - 4/28/2008 - ver 1.5.19.0 (to save others the time it takes to troubleshoot this or do what I did.) I then searched, found, and re-tested by reinstalling Windows 7 Pro from scratch with the following driver: website: driver: SiI3114 32-bit Windows SATARAID5 Driver - 2/9/2010 - ver 1.5.20.3 (they also have a 64-bit version for just Windows 7) I burned these files onto a CD and chose 'Load Driver'. It then scanned and found si3114r5.inf, after clicking Next, choose Refresh. You will then see a message 'Windows cannot be installed to.
