Macos Sierra 10 12 2 With Office Office 2016 For Mac

I was having problems with Microsoft Office 2008 which was no longer supported by the version of Mac IOS I had installed. I upgraded to 10.12.6 and also upgraded to Office 2016. As soon as I start to work on a Word document, it crashes with the rainbow wheel and I have to force quit after less than five minutes of working on a document. To add complications to potential problem-solving, when Microsoft Help staff want to view my system remotely, the software downloads but does not open; there may be a setting I'm unaware of which is preventing remote access for a non-Mac assist. I'm sure there is a simple fix for this, but I feel like I'm in an infinite loop here and getting very frustrated! Try using FontBook (Application/Utilities) to validate Fonts. I think some fonts were changed.

Both Mac and PC add fonts the same way they don't check for duplicates when replacing fonts deleting old fonts when new fonts are installed. If there are duplicates on a Mac, that can cause disappearing fonts, applications crashes, and other odd behaviors. If you find duplicate fonts by running Validate Fonts. Remove the oldest versions. Then restart the computer and try again.
